In a tightly contested first term, both sides were locked in a defensive battle, with Werribee converting a loose-ball opportunity to register their first major.
The Seagulls responded quickly, but the quarter ended with scores level at one goal apiece.
The game started to open up in the second term as Williamstown’s midfield found its rhythm, applying pressure around stoppages and transitioning cleanly into attack.
The Seagulls hit the scoreboard with greater efficiency, kicking two goals to Werribee’s none, building a 21-point lead at the main break.
After half-time, Williamstown took full control. The Seagulls’ forward line began to fire, capitalising on their inside-50 dominance to pile on seven unanswered goals in the second half.
The backline also stood tall, holding a young Werribee side scoreless in the final two quarters.
The blue and gold will look to build on this performance as they edge closer to the start of the 2025 Smithy’s VFL season – just two weeks to go.
