Williamstown Football Club would like to acknowledge and thank Karen van Wyngaarden and Suzanne Connelly for their dedication and service as Co-Chairs of the Gulls Social Club. After significant contributions to the Gulls, both Karen and Suzanne have decided not to renominate for their roles in 2025.
WFC extends its sincere gratitude to Karen and Suzanne for their leadership, as well as to the entire committee for their exceptional support. The Club would also like to acknowledge Suzanne’s dedication in producing the Social Club newsletters, a valued aspect of Gulls communications in the last few years.
As part of this transition, WFC has determined that a designated President or Chairperson is not required for the Social Club to operate moving forward. In addition, updates previously shared through the Social Club newsletter and Facebook pages will now be integrated into the Club’s general communications. This ensures that all members receive relevant information in a more accessible and streamlined format. Any Social Club-specific updates will be communicated directly via email from the Club’s office team.
Moving forward, Social Club members are encouraged to stay connected through WFC’s general newsletter and email updates for future communications. Additionally, a key priority for the Social Club in 2025 is enhancing the half-time “social” gathering, making it a focal point of the Social Club experience. Increasing engagement and attendance at these events will be a primary focus so that members are consistently connecting with the Club and each other in person.
The Gulls has been a valued part of the club for many years, but change has become necessary to ensure its continued success. WFC would like to express their gratitude to all Social Club members for their continued support, particularly during the transition from the Coterie to the Social Club. Despite Suzanne and Karen moving on from their roles, the Club is excited for another new chapter and looks forward to growing and enhancing the Gulls experience in the years ahead.
