VFL Team Selection: Ryan to debut as Seagulls host Footscray in Double Header

Williamstown returns to DSV Stadium this Saturday for a blockbuster Round 15 double header against Footscray, with the VFLW side opening the day at 10:05am before the VFL clash gets underway at 2:05pm.

After a disappointing 49-point defeat to Southport last weekend, the Seagulls will be determined to respond on home turf before travelling to Sydney for Round 16.

Williamstown receives an exciting boost at selection with newly signed forward Bailey Ryan set to make his club debut in the blue and gold.

Ryan joined the Seagulls last week following an impressive run of form with Essendon Doutta Stars in the EDFL, where he established himself as one of the competition’s most dangerous forwards. The former Western Jets and Northern Bullants player adds aerial strength, athleticism and proven goal sense to Williamstown’s attacking line.

The Seagulls also welcome the return of deputy vice-captain Cam Polson, who is back after missing the past six matches with a hamstring injury. Polson’s experience and leadership will provide a timely boost as Williamstown looks to return to the winner’s list.

Unfortunately, the Seagulls have been dealt a significant blow, with Liam Conway ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering a shoulder injury against Southport.

Saturday presents another important opportunity for Williamstown as it continues its push towards finals.

The Seagulls sit just outside the top six with a 7-5 record, while Footscray enters the contest in 17th position with four wins from 11 matches despite claiming the 2025 VFL premiership.

With four valuable points on the line and a full day of football at DSV Stadium, Seagulls supporters are encouraged to get behind both our VFLW and VFL sides as they take on Footscray.
