VFL Team Selection: Seagulls host Richmond as Colenso reaches 50 Games

May 8, 2026

Williamstown returns to DSV Stadium this Saturday for a Round 7 clash against Richmond Football Club, fresh off a strong win over Essendon last week as the Seagulls look to build momentum in front of a home crowd.

A major milestone will also headline the day, with Nathan Colenso set to celebrate his 50th club game in blue and gold, a significant achievement for the Seagulls forward.

Since arriving in 2023, Colenso has become a key part of Williamstown’s forward line, known for his pressure, work rate, and ability to hit the scoreboard. A breakout 2024 season saw him claim the Club’s Most Improved Player Award, and he has continued that form into 2025 with consistent impact across 20 games.

Williamstown will also welcome back David Cunningham, whose return adds experience and strength to the half-forward line, with his composure and ball use expected to help the side exit congestion and transition forward.

The Seagulls will unfortunately be without Toby Triffett this week, while Jai Hobson has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after sustaining a foot injury a few weeks ago. The Club will continue to support Hobson through his rehabilitation, with recovery plans focused on a full and careful return.

The Seagulls are eager to return to home soil at DSV Stadium and continue their 2026 campaign in front of the Williamstown faithful.
