VFL Team Selection: Two Changes for IKON Park Clash

May 26, 2025
Senior Coach Justin Plapp has made two changes to the Williamstown line-up ahead of Saturday’s twilight clash with Carlton at IKON Park.

Midfielder Riley Collier-Dawkins returns to the side after being a late withdrawal last week due to illness. The 25-year-old, a former Richmond Tiger, has been a key contributor across 24 games in the blue and gold, including all six in 2025 before illness sidelined him against Footscray.

Joining him is Vice-Captain Jack Toner, who is back from suspension after serving a two-week ban. A consistent performer, Toner has been named in the Club’s best players 26 times across his 60 games for the Seagulls.

Omitted from the side that defeated the Bulldogs are Blake Coleman and Liam Conway, who combined for eight disposals last week. They’ve been named as part of an extended emergency list alongside Ben Kennedy, Jack Noonan, Lucas Impey, Ned Pendergast, Nick Conlan, and Hamish Morrison.

Nick Ebinger and Mitch Cox, both impressive in their Round 8 returns, retain their spots in the 23, while former Adelaide Crow Lachie Gollant will serve the second of his four-match suspension.

Saturday’s match marks a milestone for Luke Parks, who will play his 50th VFL game – now evenly split between Carlton and Williamstown with 25 games each. The reliable intercept defender has established himself as a key pillar in the Seagulls’ back six since making the switch from the Blues.

As part of Sir Doug Nicholls Round, the match will feature a pre-game gift exchange between clubs, honouring the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players, cultures, and communities to Australian football.

The Seagulls, fresh off a strong win over the Bulldogs, are chasing a third consecutive victory against higher-ranked opponents. Carlton sit 14th on the ladder, just one spot ahead of Williamstown in 15th, making for a high-stakes contest in the run toward the mid-season mark.

First bounce is set for 4.05pm, with the second half to be played under lights at Carlton’s home ground, IKON Park.
