VFL Team Selection: Welcome Back Tom Mundy

May 2, 2025
Williamstown has made one change ahead of Saturday’s Round 6 clash against Southport at DSV Stadium.

Midfielder Tom Mundy has been recalled for his first VFL appearance in nearly five years, replacing the suspended Jack Toner.

Jack Toner will miss the next two matches after last week’s business trip to Werribee.

Mundy last featured in the blue and gold during the 2019 VFL Grand Final against Richmond, having taken a four-year break from the VFL. Since then, he’s starred at local level with Deer Park in the EDFL, winning the club’s Senior Best and Fairest in their 2023 premiership season and backing it up with a top-10 finish in 2024. Saturday will mark his ninth VFL game.

Round 5 debutant Lachlan Gollant retains his place, as do co-captains Cameron Polson and Finn O’Dwyer, who returned from injury last week.

After a disappointing final-quarter fadeout against Werribee, the Seagulls will be looking to bounce back with renewed hunger against the 2024 Grand Finalists, Southport.

Saturday’s match will be Williamstown’s third home game of the season and is part of a VFL/VFLW double-header, with our women’s side to face Geelong that evening.

Match Details:

Saturday, May 3rd at 12.05pm
