VFLW Team Selection: Pearce returns as Seagulls eye Minor Premiership

August 28, 2026

Williamstown has named its side for the final game of the 2026 VFLW home-and-away season, with the Seagulls set to host Collingwood at DSV Stadium on Saturday morning.

Sitting atop the VFLW ladder, Williamstown must secure a win over the Magpies to claim the minor premiership ahead of North Melbourne and finish the home-and-away season on top.

Providing a significant boost is the return of ruck Lilly Pearce (9), who will make her comeback after sustaining an knee injury following Round 1. The 2026 recruit and former Geelong AFLW player made an immediate impact in her debut for the Seagulls, starring in the club’s 55-point Round 1 victory over Geelong.

Also coming into the side are Maighan Fogas (20), Yasmin Welsford (30) and Elise Vella (37).

Forward Teagan Brett (2) will miss the clash due to a calf injury but is expected to return for the opening of Williamstown’s finals campaign.

A victory over Collingwood would also mark a significant milestone for the Seagulls, bringing up the club’s 50th VFLW win in its 118th match, with a record of 49 wins, 64 losses and four draws.
