Williamstown Football Club has appointed 2018 AFLW Premiership coach Paul Groves as its new VFLW Senior Coach for the next two seasons. He brings more than 13 years of elite coaching experience across both men’s and women’s football, most recently with Essendon’s AFLW program and previously as Senior Coach of the Western Bulldogs AFLW side.
Groves led the Western Bulldogs to the 2018 AFLW Premiership as their inaugural Senior Coach, after building his career through development pathways including AFL Victoria Youth Girls and Vic Metro, where he coached a national championship team in 2013. He has also held roles with the Sandringham Dragons, Calder Cannons, Monash Blues, and VAFA State Women’s team.
