Williamson & Day stay sea-bound

December 3, 2025
The Williamstown Football Club is thrilled to announce the re-signings of two of our VFLW leaders, Zoe Day and Megan Williamson, who will both return in 2026.

Megan Williamson continues to be one of the most reliable and influential figures in the VFLW program.

With 149 career games, 60 goals, and 97 best player honours, Williamson’s leadership and consistency remain cornerstones of the Seagulls’ midfield brigade.

Williamson is a two-time Best and Fairest Winner with the club as well, having shared the VFLW Best and Fairest with Emily Eaves in 2024, and having won the Best and Fairest award in 2019, the same year in which she was also the club’s VFLW player of the year.

In 2025, Williamson played in 14 games, polling eight best player votes and delivering her trademark intensity around the contest.

A proven finals performer, Williamson’s return to the group provides stability as the team prepares for another strong campaign under new VFLW Senior Coach Paul Groves.

Joining her is defensive stalwart Zoe Day, who has also recommitted for the season ahead.

With 81 career games, Day has built a reputation as one of Williamstown’s most fearless defenders.

In 2025, she featured in 13 matches, collecting a best-on-ground performance in Round 10 against North Melbourne while holding down key roles across the defensive 50.

VFLW coaches, teammates and supporters alike view the pair as pillars of the women’s program – leaders who set elite standards on and off the field.

As resignings ramp up for 2026, the recommitment of Williamson and Day strengthens the club’s foundations and reinforces its ambition to rise even further next season.
