After a standout debut season with the Seagulls in 2024, Parks has quickly cemented himself as a cornerstone of Williamstown’s VFL program, delivering consistent excellence and leadership across half-back.

Originally from New South Wales, Parks relocated to Glenelg in 2020 to further his development, a decision that proved pivotal when he was selected by Carlton with pick No.8 in the 2021 NAB AFL Rookie Draft.

Following his arrival at Williamstown, Parks’ impact was immediate. He claimed the Club’s Best and Fairest in 2024, earned selection in the VFL Team of the Year, and led the Seagulls for marks, averaging 7.8 per game.

However, the 2025 season took that form to another level.

Parks secured back-to-back Gerry Callahan Medals as the VFL program’s Best and Fairest again, polling a clear 134 votes to finish 19 ahead of runner-up Jake Greiser.

He also earned consecutive selections in the Smithy’s VFL Team of the Year backline, reinforcing his standing among the league’s elite defenders.

Across 20 matches, Parks averaged 16.6 disposals, 13.9 kicks and a league-leading 10.3 marks per game. He recorded 10 or more marks on eight occasions, including season-high performances of 19 marks against Collingwood and 15 against Geelong.

His consistency, courage and composure have made the 24-year-old one of the VFL’s most reliable and influential backmen, while his professionalism continues to set the standard within the playing group.

Williamstown CEO Paul Northey said retaining Parks was a significant win for the Club heading into the next phase of its VFL campaign.

“Luke’s impact on and off the field has been enormous since joining the Club,” Northey said.

“He brings elite defensive craft, leadership and competitiveness every week. To have him recommit to Williamstown is a huge endorsement of our program and where we’re heading.”

With strong momentum from 2025 firmly on his side, Luke Parks’ return ensures the Seagulls’ defence remains in safe hands as the Club builds towards another strong VFL season.
