The Williamstown Football Club hosted its Round 21 President’s Luncheon on Sunday, dedicating the afternoon to celebrating the women who play such an important role in the Seagulls community.

While our VFLW side booked their spot in the semi-finals and our VFL team had a Round 20 bye, plenty of Seagull talent was still on show at local level. Hamish Morrison and Krystal Russell stood out among several other strong contributors over the weekend.

While both our VFL and VFLW sides fell narrowly to Collingwood, several Seagulls once again showcased their talent at local level. Luke Scicchitano and Mia Giannopoulos led the charge, with plenty of others also delivering strong performances across local competitions over the weekend.

While our VFL side couldn’t get the job done in Queensland, falling by 22 points, and our VFLW team had the weekend off, a number of Seagulls continued to make their mark at local level. Ben Kennedy and Robyn Randell headlined the weekend, with several others also impressing in local leagues.

Seagull Sightings at Local Level – July 12,13 & 19,20

The past fortnight has seen plenty of movement across the club. With the VAFA on a two-week bye, Williamstown has made several lineup changes, calling on players recently active at local level. The VFL side has endured two tough losses, while the VFLW team split their results with a win and a loss. Only a handful of Seagulls have featured in local leagues during this period, with Hamish Morrison and Brittney Gray among those delivering standout performances in the EDFL.

While our VFL side extended their winning streak to eight and our VFLW side battled through a tough loss to Port Melbourne, several other Seagulls were in action across local leagues. Hamish Morrison and Megan Smart led the way, while others made strong contributions in their respective matches.

While our VFLW team secured their first-ever win over the Casey Demons, and our VFL side had a bye, there were plenty of Seagulls playing at local level. Big names Max Philpot and Chloe Bain returned from injury, while several development players impressed.

More than 1,100 primary school students have participated in Williamstown Football Club’s free Seagull Sessions over the past year, thanks to the ongoing support of Port of Melbourne.
